Title: 1948 frazer brakes
Post by: Joe H on April 18, 2009, 06:14:16 PM: I have a 1048 Frazer that needs a brake job but I don't know what shoes will fit it . can anyone help?

Post by: Fid on April 19, 2009, 11:22:10 AM: There's a fellow near me that just did a brake job on a 1948 Frazer (I don't think it's you...) and if I remember correctly, he said he got his shoes at NAPA so Doc is providing good info. You will need a B.F. wheel puller to remove the rear drums and you'll likely need to shock them off (hitting the axle with a B.F.H.). By the way, the B.F. in wheel puller stands for the same thing it does in the B.F.H.

What is becoming very difficult to acquire are the 3/16" brake lines (5/16" fuel lines as well) as the standard local parts stores have ceased to stock it. If you see any at a NAPA, or any other parts supplier, it would be advisable to buy it.

Post by: rialto on April 08, 2016, 07:19:30 PM: The 5/16 and 3/16 double flare steel tubing shouldn't be that hard to get. I buy it on a regular basis. A real auto store have it. You can also buy rolls of it with no ends so you make the long lines to the rear one piece like the originals. You will have to double flare the ends yourself but it will look correct.
