Data tag on a 53 H J
-
The information you are looking for is part of DECODING BODY TAGS and the information on the 1953 HENRY J CORSAIR (Model 533) so it's easy to work with.
533 under MODEL refers to 1953 (53) Henry J Corsair with 4 cyl engine (3)
4 under BODY means it is a 2-door sedan
203 for PAINT means the exterior color of the car was originally Pea****** Blue, a color used throughout the model year.
5500 at TRIM indicates the car left the factory with Copper Weave Plastrastrand upholstery on the Seats. It also indicates the rear seat folded down. Fold down rear seats on a 4 cylinder corsair indicates the car did not have a deck lid according to Confidential Bulletins 85 or 88.
IP number 34 indicates the car's Interior Paint painted pieces were originally Australian Beige
4 at TR means the car was factory equipped with overdrive transmission which will be useful as the 4 is a long-stroke engine.
I cannot tell for certain as you kind of crop the right side of the plate, but if you have 34 at the AG (Accessory Group) header your car was factory equipped with the otherwise optional Opening Front Window Vents & Vacuum Booster Fuel Pump.
The 57 and 202 at the lower right corner identifies Building Schedule (SCHED) and position on the schedule (ITEM). The approximate start of 1953 model year production was August 23 1952. If you clock off 57 WORKING days (no weekends or holidays) from that point you have an approximation as to when the body started down the fabrication line. 1953 model year production information does not break it down the way 1952 model year stuff does so I can't get better than that.
New, delivered at Willow Cottage with no other options, the car would retail for $1,528.73 plus state/local taxes (if applicable), license & title fees. Options included vents, directional signals, oil filter, heater, radio and rear side window opening vent windows.
One other note. In a July 10, 1953 memo to dealers and distributors Ray Abernathy notes that "in view of the small number of Accessory Group No. 34 cars," which suggests that this combination was rather unusual (but still in the order guide).. The factory pushed dealers to move the HJ with fixed back seat and deck lid, while the $1,499.00 factory delivered price was for an HJ without any Accessory Group.

Paint Code looks like 202 to me - Jade Green Metallic -
Henry J Data Plates are difficult to photograph.
And the Accessory Group is important on this one - Is it 34 or 36??
-
here's a better photo

Outside of the different paint # (it is easier to read on the second photo) as Jade Green Metallic is correct, nothing changes from my original reply. Group 34 is opening vent windows and vacuum booster fuel pump only; the car should still have fold down rear seat back but no Deck Lid.

This was the body tag on the blue 53 HJ with no trunk lid that was on eBay. He sold it today. Not to me, though.

It makes sense that the original color was green as for some reason there are lot of folks who do not like green and change the color. Pea****** blue is not a color that someone is likely to change but Aloha green Js seem to get the color change treatment more often than others. I am one of those weird people who likes Aloha green.

It seems more people are changing body colors due to personal preference.
