Title: Allstate emblems (Name Plates)
Post by: Gordie on December 18, 2013, 12:11:44 AM
My hood emblem is missing and the trunk emblem is broken.  Has anyone ever made reproductions of them?  Are the front and rear emblems interchangeable?  I could find the hood name plate for the Henry J in the'51 HJ parts book but not the rear emblem.  My car has no deck lid but the name plates would probably be the same.  Does anyone have any ideas for replacements?  Thanks

First check the "Allstate Specific Parts" item in KFOCI HANDBOOK.  You'll find the K-F service Bulletin passing on Allstate-specific part numbers & descriptions to dealers.  The numeric sequence starts other than the normal "1" or "2".  Rarely found, there may still be some NOS out there.  Remember you can run a WANTED ad in the Bulletin at no charge.  I would suggest listing the part numbers only.  Also, you may want to post a WANTED ad as I believe there may still be some Allstate parts cars out there.

Try this for starters.

Thank you!  There is a service bulletin #409 for the Allstate cars that includes a parts list unique to the Allstates and it lists a nameplate for the hood but again none for the trunk.  Perhaps they are the same if Henry J's name plates are the same too.  The accessory bumper guards are listed also so they are apparently different from the Henry J.

Gordie, I know someone in the club, I don't remember who unfortunately, had some Allstate badges reproduced and still had a few, so an ad in the bulletin may be a good idea. Also, I thought I heard somewhere that the Allstate / Vespa scooter used the same emblem that was used on the hood of the Allstate and that they were available. Not sure where you might check - google Allstate  emblems maybe...?

Try Dave Antram. I discussed this with him a while back ,but like most everything else I forgot what was said.
