Hi..
My 1951 Henry J is in the shop so it's not available to me at this time, but a question came to mind.
I want to check and/or replace all of the light bulbs in my car with new.
As my Henry doesn't have the opening trunk, how does one (me) get to the red lens rear taillight bulbs??
Simpleton.

Look closely at the outer edge of the tail light lens. There is a thin metal ring that acts as a retainer...it holds the lens in place. Remove the ring and then the lens for access to the bulb.
Be careful as the ring is thin and likely brittle from age!

Thanks Joe...
Part of being a "Newbie" is to ask the same questions as many have done before. Appreciate the patience of those that respond to sometimes simplistic inquiries.

What I usually do is use an ice pick or a small screwdriver - find the split in the retainer and gentle pry there. When it starts to come out you just gently walk it out like a key ring. It's kind of like putting an inner tube in a tire, or taking one out.
