Title: jeep truck question

in what year did the truck switch from 6 volt to 12 and how can i tell what mine is,,,,

Willys started the switch in 1957. Th easiest way to tell is to look at either the starter or generator. Both will have oval tags that, if the vehicle is 12V, will clearly state it.

My '58 FC170 was 6vot when I bought it.
