How do I remove the headlight switch from the dash? The switch is rusted and the knob will not pull out, hopefully penetrating oil will release the switch rod. Thanks, Henry.

The knob has a small tab that must be pushed toward the knob to release it. Once the knob is free, remove the bezel and the pull the switch assembly out from the back of the dash.

Thanks joe, don't want to break the knobs, Henry.

What I usually do is remove the knob by Joe's stated method. Then reach up behind the dash and turn the whole switch to try to loosen the bezel, which can be difficult to grip or loosen. Try holding the bezel with your fingers while turning the whole switch assembly from behind. That usually works. Of course you can't rotate the switch assembly a full 360 degrees! The idea is get it loose, if it turns at all it is loose. Then you can unscrew the bezel with your fingers.

I just wiggled the light switch while holding the bezel. I had to use a pair of vicegrips to hold the choke cable where it was swedged to the holder while turning the nut. I am removing all the wiring in one piece and replacing it with my own design. Henry
