I am removing the dash from a '54 Darrin and cannot figure out how to remove the dash knobs (blower, lights, etc..). There is a small hole in each knob, but it doesn't look like an alan wrench will work. Do you push a small round piece of metal into the hole and twist, turn to the left (what's the trick)?
Thanks in advance.

There's a spring loaded tab inside the hole that when pushed releases tension on the switch shaft, allowing the knob to be pulled off. A straightened stiff paper clip should do the job.
