This part is not listed in my K/F parts list books. Carburetor or brake pedal return spring?
-
It is in the 1951 Kaiser parts book. Part number 200224 is part of group 30.074 listed as deck lid latch and striker. The part is listed as spring, link to inner panel.

I bought one NOS a few years ago, sight unseen off ebay. I thought perhaps it may make a suitable replacement for a Henry J clutch return spring (it won't) but I also looked all over in the trunk of the '51 Kaiser I had here at the time and I saw no such spring. Couldn't find where it was supposed to go. If you do find out where, let me know - thanks.

My '49 parts book shows it as a brake pedal return spring for a '49 - 491 & 495 R.H.D.

This is getting more strange by the minute! The 49 parts book I have (May 1949 Revised which is the big blue covered book) lists 200224 as brake pedal return spring but for R. H. D. which means Right Hand Drive. The one for L. H. D. is part number 204433. Go figure...

Well, from this picture to me it looked like an accelerator return spring but then so black in color I thought brake return spring.
