Title: Transmission question

Does anyone know if the later version T-86E with overdrive used behind the 54-55 226 engine will fit in an earlier car(53) taking the place of the T96 with overdrive ?

I can not give you a definitive answer. If the t96 came from a Henry J or Willys with similar engines ,the answer is no. The input shaft on the t86 is about 4 inches longer. A few, a very few t96s were used behind the 226 in Willys products. They will have the longer shafts.
