There are two different version of stainless trim that fits the 49 and 50 Kaisers. The Specials just used a thin piece of trim that attached to the rocker panel while the Deluxe's used a wider molding on the rocker panel in addition to trim that attached to the bottoms of the doors as well as a separate piece that fit behind each wheel.

And the words "not expensive" do not apply to skirts--if you find any they will be expensive.

Were skirts available for the Specials?

You saw the skirts mainly on the Convertibles, Virginians and Vagabonds but they were also a dealer sold option so you could have seen them on any car someone put them on. A rare part to be sure. My father bought out a dealer's stock back in the early 70s and there was an NOS pair among that stock. The price he got for those skirts alone paid for the rest of the stock!

I have never seen narrow moldings on 1949-50 skirts.
