Hello, if you are parting this car out I need all of the throttle linkage from the accelerator pedal up to the carb including that on the fire wall and will buy it from you if available. Gordie Chamberlin, gordies1@verizon.net

Hi Gordie - do you need this part of the throttle linkage? (http://home.comcast.net/~ljfid/DSC04851.JPG) ?
I was going to list it on ebay but if you need it, make me an offer and I'll send it to you.

Is that part of the carburetor linkage? If so my carb is complete but I need everything else. Thanks for the offer. Gordie

It's part number 201908, "Bell crank - throttle linkage" according to my parts book. It fits late 47 and all 48 KFs

Many thanks for the reply, I do have that part on my carb. but I need the throttle linkage that bolts to the firewall. I do not know what happened to mine!

Hi,
If you're thinking of a V8 conversion,
1. Think about a Ford engine- why?, because the Ford engine has the distributer close to the rad. as opposed to the firewall. I think access would be so much easier.
2. For disc brake conversion, there is an outfit down in the States who will convert your original spindles to disc brakes, and to any (Ford or GM) bolt pattern. I think Frazers had a Ford bolt pattern.
My Frazer has just been rewired form bumper to bumper (by me) and is in the process of having a Ford 4.6 litre fuel injected motor and AODE transmission (from a Crown Victoria) I also have the rear end which already has disc brakes.
Would like to hear more about your project!

myfrazer, Can we see pictures of your 47 with the v8/od. That CV v8 is a nice motor. My brother has a CV and loves it. gets 20+ MPG and good pick-up. I'll try to post a picture of a member with a v8 (chevy I think) in his 47 Kaiser.

I remember somethink like he had to move in the fire wall some.

The measurements of the Ford engine plus transmission were okay, but the two pods which have the plug wires (mounted at the front of the two "bumps for the overhead cam sprockets) will need to be moved. I'm considering placing them on the original radiator support. The other thing to do is have a remote oil filter, since the position interferes with the original crossmember. The nice thing about this motor is the oil pan which provides a heck of a lot of clearance for the steering mechanism.
The AODE plus the engine is so long that you only need the second support for the transmission. It does need to be moved, however. Before you get too excited, I'm still in the process with all this, but will keep you posted as things develop.
One issue is the Crown Vic rearend. The Frazer rear end was about 48 inches backplate to backplate, while the Crown Vic's about 52 inches. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

You can have a custom 9" rear made just like you want and can change the 3ed member easily later if you want different gears back there.
