Title: 1955 Willys Aero Custom
Post by: Chris Luecht on November 24, 2009, 09:04:12 AM
Hi guys, figured I'd share some pictures of the 1955 Willys Aero Custom that I picked up a few months ago.  Wasn't in the market for one, but was a pretty nice car so I couldn't pass it up.  Never thought I'd own a Willys.  Rebuilt engine, new leather interior, new paint.  Previous owner chopped off the continental kit.  Not perfect, but fun to own and drive.  Been driving it to work, around town, couple of car shows and everyone is always in interested.

Chris,

What are the serial and body tag numbers?  Normally the red stripe wheel discs were used on export models...the normal design was like the 1952-55 Kaiser, with a painted black "W" in the center, instead of the K.

Well bought!  I really love the '55 Willys.  I've read where some people criticzed the front end treatment because it was not as clean as the earlier 'W', but as I said, I love it.

Very nice buy, Chris!  I drove a '53 Aero a few years back and was impressed at how modern it felt compared to my Kaiser.  It is a nice size too.  Seems this could have been a better product for Kaiser to have made if it could have instead of the 'J, but that line of thinking has probably been beat to death.  I enjoy them all anyway.
