I just started work on 1953 J 6 cyl 161 needs a water pump
  Can anyone help?? or rebuild kit part # would help

Check kanter.com. They are not cheap but they have correctly rebuilt pumps.

According to www.napaonline.com  they still carry it. It is NAPA WP 58461

If you search NAPA's site using the Willys Part Number, 643564, and make sure "Interchange" is selected, this is what it comes up with. It looks correct in the NAPA picture (compare it the one off my in the attached picture). They want $73.88 for it so, no it's not cheap  but it is one.

Ah yes, I forgot about NAPA. Probably because when I tried to purchase one there weren't any available. Hopefully, that's changed.

NAPA lists that one for a Willys 161 L-6 which is the same as Henry J. Often times the Willys numbers cross when the KF ones don't.

My son in law manages a local NAPA store here in Syracuse, NY. I had him check the numbers yesterday, they do come up as good, but there are no pumps anywhere according to NAPA's computers. A1 Cardone is the rebuilder/distributor of these pumps, they show none available. Best bet is a rebuilder like Arthur Gould or Egge or one of several others. That's the route I take with "oddball" parts.

every once in awhile i post that they are available 58-461
 there was one LAST one available for a few days  on amazon....
until finally someone got it

 betcha somebody bought up more than 1, i should have got several when i had the chance at under 40 bucks

  Had NAPA send my water pump to be rebuilt
    $139 plus shipping and tax

Terry, how was the waterpump after it was rebuilt?
