Post by: vt2000driver on November 19, 2015, 07:22:04 PM
well here goes the oil filter that was in the oil filter can was an Allstate 4551 it has a much bigger hole than p70  the canister also has a T not a nut on the top.  is there a replacement for this ? or do I just have to find another canister with the nut on top.

You don't give much info; brand and model number are good but what kind of car did it come out of (make/year)?  K-F oil filters used either a P-70FF or a Fram C-3 (like on Studebakers).  Large wing nut on cover rather than large bolt suggests a C-3 or some other aftermarket brand.  Car info & picture of the unit (with top on) would be helpful.

Allstate filter #'s are not in the cross-reference books I have.

Not sure but I think the filter you are showing us is a Purolater which was aftermarket, possibly installed by the dealer, but repainted by someone along the line.
