Title: Speedometer Cable
Post by: Barnum on May 24, 2016, 11:45:54 AM
Does anyone know if there is more  than one length speedo cable ? I know there two different type connectors on the trans end.  I got a replacement cable that was a screw on type at the trans. Mine is a bell type that is clamped to the trans.  The inner cable looked to be the same length, but is not long enough to reach inside the speedo gear.

My car is a 47 without overdrive.  I bought a replacement cable and sheath from a guy in Oregon, and the Stewart Warner box had the info on these photos.
Hope this helps,
Jerry

The lengths are normally listed in the appropriate Parts Lists for your year/model.   ;)

The 64 and 70 in the part numbers is the length of the cable itself.

If you have the casing and the end gear, then all you need is the cable itself which is available at NAPA. They sell a generic cable that's already squared at one end and all you do is cut to length and then stake a tip on the other.
