Did the upper trunnions on the 52 and 53 cars change for the 54 and 55 models?
-
I just restored the front end of my 1955 Willys Bermuda. The lower control arm, lower trunnions, idler arm and steering knuckle support are different in the cars manufactured in 1954 and 1955 with bigger super hurricane engine. However, the upper trunnions and probably upper control arm are the same like earlier years with hurricane and L-161 engines.

edohan is correct.
The part number for the upper trunnion is the same in the early parts list as the parts list for the '54 & '55 models, #803019

Thank you two very very much for the info. I received a box of front end parts for Aeros although most had part numbers on them, the trunnions did not. I feel safe now in keeping the upper trunnions for future use. I have returned the lower ones that are for the earlier models.
The following items are all for the 54 and 55 models:
In the box their were six #809772 Idler Arm Bushings. I used one and it worked perfectly. I am willing to give up two of these if anyone needs them. The box also has #809787 and #809788 Idler Arm Bushings if anyone can use those. One last thing in the box is six #811707 the four inch long 3/4 inch bolt for the lower trunnions, again I am willing to give up two of these. Call me anytime at (561) 779-6502
Edohan, were you able to find NOS parts for your front end rebuilding?
-
I was lucky to find NOS lower control arms, idler arm bracket and upper/ lower trunnions . The rest needed to be re- threaded. However, the front end is very tight and almost like brand new now!
-
That's great! Had a front end alignment done yesterday and everything is good on mine. My steering is tightened up to its maximum though. I would buy the lower control arms and trunnions if I could find them NOS, just as spares for the future.
-
I bought some NOS lower control arms from Duane Hayes. At one time he had quite a few, and the different types but you'd have to ask to find out what he has now.
