Parts For Sale & Wanted / Parts for Sale
« on: January 26, 2020, 05:08:45 PM »
Cleaning out my father's barn and we found all the "extra" parts left over from his rebuild.  There are too many parts to list and they range in condition but all are from either a 1947 Frazer or a 1949 Kaiser (which was the donor car).  Some items are like a windshield wiper motor, Frazer dash, some gauges, a crank shaft, some interior parts, hubcaps, etc.  The items are located in storage in Jessamine County, KY.  One price takes the lot we are not interested in piece milling.  If you are interested, please send me an email at either Buryl.Thompson@ky.gov or Lovethetennis@gmail.com.

Frazer Forum / Farewell Dad
« on: May 16, 2018, 08:18:11 PM »
My father and I restored a 1947 GP Frazer over the course of many years.  He was so proud to debut it at local cruise-ins and shows.  We were excited when the KF Club was meeting at Mammoth Cave Park some years ago as it is near.  We made our reservation and our entire family made the trip down.  Our initial excitement and enthusiasm gave way to disappointment.  Not only were many of the members dismissive of our effort, they were hurtful and crude with their comments.  Instead of engaging in conversation about the car they made ugly remarks and ridiculed our choices.  So much so that my Dad became disillusioned with the show circuit, club and the eventually the car itself.  He finally donated the car to the Shriners who auctioned it off for charity to support the Shriners Hospital; it brought $40,000.  My Dad passed away unexpectedly this January.  My point in saying all this is let folks know that the collector car community should be supportive and caring.  My Dad invested alot of time and money into restoring the vehicle only to have it dismissed.  Comments and critiques should always be offered with a desire to support and improve not to tear down an individual.  The Corvette community is notorious for this type of behavior; we were surprised to hear it from the KF community which on the whole seemed like a more mature crowd.  Please remember to be kind and supportive; you never know who is listening.

I'm searching for a KF branded spot light that will fit my father's '47 GP Frazer.  Also, would like to find the spring for the fuel filler door.

What held the fuel door open on the '47 Frazers?  We thought maybe a spring but have not found anything that would work.  Ideas?  Advice?  Thanks.

I tried to attach a rubbing of the ID plate but could not figure it out.  Here are the numbers:

Model-47, Body-5, Paint-357, Trim-105, Body Number 10338

Interesting.  Sounds like that maybe consistency in parts was not a strong suit for K-F,  ???.  Dad's VIN is F47-010053.  The deck lid handle is turn type in lieu of the squeeze type.

Very cool!  You are starting way ahead of where my Dad had to start.  You will invest a lot more than the car would bring on the market but it will be worth every penny.  I do have a question regarding the call out letters (script).  The car my Dad started with, a '47 Graham Page Frazer, had never had any body work, it came with one piece FRAZER on the hood and the deck lid.  Presently, his script is badly pitted.  In looking for a few last items, including better script,  I have encountered more than one person who has told me that it is incorrect, the lettering from and back were individual.  Is there any defintive resource for this info?  Thanks and good luck with your restoration!

My father has mostly restored a 1947 Graham Page Frazer but there are few items he lacks.  His birthday is in April and I would like to surprise him with one or more of the items.  The needed items are:

*Hub Caps
*Radio Knobs
*KF Spotlights
*Call out letters for hood and deck lid
*Oil bath air filter

If anyone has these items or know of a source, please email me at Buryl.Thompson@ky.gov or call me at 859-223-3624.

Thanks much!
