That thing is hideous!  But that's just my personal opinion.  I did find a wagon (not the black woodie one) on the internet somewhere that was perfect.  Will post a pic if I can find it again.

Thanks for the catalog link but I want to make some out of aluminum.  I'm not sure if my car still has the originals or not but it's packed in the garage and a little cold out to go check it out.

Yes that is what I am talking about.  I have no clue why they would be called rubber shims when every other place calls them body bushings.  Anyways, are they all 2 x 2 x 1/2 if those are the correct dimensions, or do they differ from mount locations at all?  Thanks.

Was wondering if Henry J's came with body bushings and if so how many are there?  Also if possible, could someone supply the dimensions of one?  Thinking of making them myself.

Parts For Sale & Wanted / Henry J windshield center trim piece
« on: November 15, 2012, 02:41:51 PM »
Bought some front windshield trim the other day but I am missing the center piece that goes from the top to bottom in between the two windshields.  Does anyone have one laying around in nice shape?

Thanks everyone for the advice.  Was going to post yesterday but forgot to.  I removed the emblem on the hood the other day.  What I did was on the "clips" if that's what you want to call them, I took a small screw driver and bent the two tabs back on the clip that holds it tight on the emblem studs a little and got them to slide off.  Just need to flatten them back out when the day comes to put them back on.  Not sure if the others are the same but will find out this weekend.

Slowly tearing apart the Henry and was wondering how exactly to remove the emblems from the "trunk", hood, and dash without breaking the tabs on the back of them.  Thought they were just nuts on the backside but the look like round flat pieces of metal that are pushed onto the tabs.

I need to redo my floors and rockers also.  Whoever did it the first time didn't line everything up, so now the door gaps are off.  I plan on cutting it all out and holding it together with a ratchet strap or cable/cable binders (would have finer adjustments).  Then once I get it where I want, I'll tack on or if possible bolt on some square tubing to hold it where I want and brace from side to side also so when I install the new rockers and floors, nothing moves.

Yeah mine is long gone, it was really nasty.  Went straight from the car to the trash.

Wow, I've know people that have spent 10,000 on paint and body which included replacing panels etc. but 25 is insane if it just needs a little hammer and dolly work.

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Rocker install pics?
« on: September 20, 2012, 02:15:42 PM »
So I finally ordered and got my new inner and outer rocker panels today.  Does anyone have any pics on how these go together and how they go on the car?  Looks like the inner rocker is 2 halves that need to be welded together before install.  Is this right?  I'll try and post some pics tomorrow as they might help with my question.

Wow, that is cool!  Sorry, I'm young (22) and this is the oldest car I've ever owned.  Went out in the garage and sure enough they work!  So where can I get a new lock cylinder for mine or are they hard to find?  I'm going to keep it how it is, just would be nice to have a key.  Thanks for the info.

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Door locks?
« on: September 17, 2012, 12:54:04 AM »
So something I have been wondering, whats up with door locks on Henrys?  My car on the passenger side has a door handle with a key hole under a little rotating cover on the button, but yet the drivers side just has a regular button on it.  Is this how they came from the factory and is there anyway to lock the drivers side?  I don't know if the passenger side locks as I have no key for it.  Also, I've noticed there's no door lock actuators like every car has in the doors.

Thanks for all the info and diagram.  I cut the rear window out yesterday but decided not to cut the rest out till I asked another question.  Does the glass provide a lot of support for the body?  The reason I ask is because my floors were replaced and they need to be redone correctly as all the gaps are messed up and the doors don't fit right.  If I cut the windshield out, would that make it harder to line everything back up when I cut apart the floor and redo it?  Or won't it matter?
