Actor next to the Kaiser in the first picture from the Superman TV series is Ben Welden who appeared as one of the "bad guys" many times during the run of the show.

Actor in the second photo appears to be George Chandler.  Both men were well known and respected character actors of the era.

Thank you Jack.
I really want to drive and enjoy my car without altering it too extremely.  If I can add PS that is or looks Kaiser it would be so nice.  You have been a great help.
Again, Many Thanks

Thanks Jack!  I had no idea PS was an option on the Carolina.  I was afraid I was messing up my car by putting it on.  I will call Dale.  Thanks again

Someone told me that some Nash or Rambler power steering units would go right on a 53 Kaiser.  Is this right?  If so what should I be looking for?

I believe I saw a late 40's Kaiser or Frazer in "It Came from Beneath the Sea" The car is in the parking lot and only seen for a couple of seconds.  It appears when the giant Octopus attacks the port authority building in San Francisco.

I would like to join the voices hoping you don't change your car.  They are getting rarer almost every day and yours sounds like it's in fairly decent shape.  My son found a 1959 De Soto when he was 17 and kept it stock.  He is now 31 , still has the car and is so glad he kept it original.

Everyone sees modern and modified rides all over the place.  You have made a great find and  now have the chance to enjoy driving a car from the days when they had a "personality".  I do hope you will restore your car.  I think you'll be glad you did in the long run.

Be sure also to join the K-F club.  You 'll find a great group of knowledgeable people who are more than willing to help.  It is a very active club with: gatherings, meets, cruises and MORE!

Take the road less traveled by!  GOOD LUCK!

;D
PLEASE get your Carolina registered with the club.

 It's easy!

Contact Jim Betts- jimbetts@q.com
Jim will need the info off the firewall plate and the serial number from the drivers door jam.

Let's have a nice registry that will bring us Carolina folks closer together and let everyone know how many of our model still survive.

Thanks

Thanks Jim.

We are going to get the Carolina out & ready for summer shortly.  My car is a 4 door with hydramatic.  It also has "bumper bullets", "bananas", 2 sun visors and a horn ring.  I believe these were all installed by a dealer to dress it up a bit, as it once belonged to a funeral home. It is in great shape (could use a repaint though) and now runs well.
I guess that I should disregard that condescending comment about Carolina's, although it still irritates.

How rare are Carolina's?  I've heard many were used as parts to restore Dragons & Manhattans.  Does anyone have a rough idea how many still survive?  It will be interesting to see how many show up in the registry.

Good luck with your cars.  I hope you will post pictures at some point.   :)

I'm a bit curious   Are you restoring a Carolina that was turned into a Manhattan or turning a Manhattan into a Carolina?

I am also curious about why you're restoring this car.  Why?  because I was told by a club member that Carolina's weren't in the same class as other Kaisers. If this is the feeling toward this model, why restore one? This comment made me feel like I owned Kaisers' ugly, cheapo step child which was not really a welcome part of the club.

I do plan to register my Carolina and hope others will too.   I like my car alot but, when it comes to Kaiser gatherings, maybe I should just keep it at home in the garage.

I certainly understand it.   I had to have an automatic also.  Best of luck!  It looks like a nice car and should sell quickly.

Why did he decide to not restore this car?  It would be interesting to know what was found that made him decide to move on.
