Is there enough of the 47-48 material to do seats or headliner?
Thanks, Rob

Try putting the acetone/ atf mix down the valve guides. You'll have to pull the head. Mine had the two center valves stuck. Valves could be stuck to their seats too. I had  a Rambler 232 of mine freed up by filling the cylinders with kerosene and setting it on fire! That car ran like a champ and used no oil. True story.

General Discussion / Re: KF 30 Tool

Thanks, I hadn't thought of just making it so it would fit between the lifters, not necessarily around the sides of them.

I already have the tappet wrenches. The tool makes a 7/8 wrench a moot point. Where the splash guards are makes it impossible to get three wrenches in there. Trying to hold the adjuster and the tappet while turning the locknut is damn near impossible.

Anyone out there own or have the dimensions to KF tool 30? It is like a double ended 7/8 wrench that fits between the lifters and holds them. I'm trying to adjust the valves on my 47 Kaiser and unfortunately it has the early locknuts. This makes it nearly impossible to do the adjustment properly. Getting three wrenches in there and seeing what you're doing is an exercise in frustration. I would be willing to buy the tool or make one if someone has the tool or a diagram to make one.

Thanks, Rob

Decent door handles
Trunk handle ( non trigger type )
Headlight rims
Wiper arms and blades
Lower shock mount to A Arm
Decent Side grilles
Bumpers with decent chrome

Parts do not have to be NOS, but may be. Mainly looking for parts that will look good on a driver, not all pitted up.

Thanks for any assistance,
Rob

Parts For Sale & Wanted / Geez... Doesn't anyone want to sell parts?
« on: December 22, 2014, 07:13:12 PM »
I've tried off and on to buy some trim pieces for my '47 Kaiser. The only person who replied and sold me anything was Terry Zeug. I've talked to owners at meets, emailed people here, no responses. Is anyone willing to help?

Thanks, Rob

Kaiser Forum / Trying to determine fabric yardage needed, etc.
« on: December 08, 2013, 07:02:41 AM »
Hi Folks!

I want to do the seats on my 47 Special and need to determine the amount to buy. Also, what have people done for door panels in terms of material and the backing board?

Thanks, Bish

Kaiser Forum / Car show score!
« on: September 15, 2013, 06:55:04 AM »
Went to the Bennington,VT car show, a 4 hour drive in my Wagonaire. Came away with both rear quarters and front fenders for my 47 Special NOS for $150. The sellers father had had them for as long as he could remember. Red primer is thin and they're surface rusted a bit. One front fender looks as if it was painted but never installed. Also scored some Autocraft vinyl bucket seat covers for my 73 Dodge van in the correct color for $20. These quarters will save me much work on the rear of the car.  This has restored some faith in the old swap meet in the internet sales age.
