The governor is an open circuit until it  reaches approx 31 mph and then it goes to ground to complete the circuit.  So the answer is no.  However it is easy to remove and can be spun with a drill or just visually checked.  They rarely fail.

Terry;  Your pump cam must be at its high point.  Try turning the engine over one turn this will turn the cam a half turn to the low point.

For starters they are called wheel studs.  Threads are 1/2 by 20, RH thread on LH side and LH thread on RH side.  There are a number listed and claimed to fit on line.  I have had no personal experience.

Me again;  I also have a fresh 292 Ford Y block which would be a much easier swap and be enough horsepower and I could keep my overdrive.  Does anyone have experience with this swap.  I'm wondering if the t86 trans bolt pattern is the same and if the input shaft is the the same length.  Thanks.

Has anyone attempted to turbo charge their super hurricane?  Where I live we have to cross the continental divide three directions out of town, although I love touring in Sweet Willie the 110 hp takes a lot of the fun out of it.  Sometimes down to 40 mph and working the hell out of him.  I do have a newly built Buick 425 Nailhead looking for a home but hate to change anything.  Any suggestions to get more hp from the old 226?  Thanks, Tom.

All Borg Warner R-10 and R-11 overdrives work the same.  Some car mfgrs. wired theirs a bit differently.  If you can't fix yours you can use more common Ford parts.  A good Borg Warner wiring diagram is on Garage Tech With Andy Rundle site.  Be aware that overdrive electrical parts are made of precious metals and priced as such.  Tom.

These cars should be worth a lot more.  My original 55 Bermuda gets more love and attention than my 57 high dollar Ford E code Sunliner conv.  Most people have never seen one and love to have their pictures taken with " Sweet Willie".  Of course 90% have no idea that Willys ever built a car.

I haven't been able to post for a couple of years and don't even know how I got here.  Hope I can get back here again.

Most electric fuel pumps are pulse type and do make noise.  High end   motorized ones are much quieter.  Never bolt an electric pump directly to body or frame, this will amplify the noise.  Best to hang from a piece of belting with no pump fasteners touching metal.  Of course if your pump is single wire a separate ground will be required.

Not adjustable.  I don't know the exact operation, but it is a constantly pulsating device to keep voltage constant and limit excess voltage and spikes.  Ford also used these and could probably be adapted.

Float level?  Fuel filter?  Dwell?   If this is a new condition it is probably not the transmission.

Are you saying that the pitman arm is loose on the output shaft splines?  If you can fit some thin shim  stock as you suggested it should work.  Don't forget about red Locktite or Devcon shaft builder,  I've used both with success.  All depends on how loose  Tom.

I'm going to look at it tomorrow evening.  Anyone have anything they would like me to check out?  Tom.
