General Discussion / Analyzer
« on: July 01, 2020, 06:09:39 PM »
Trying to get an accurate reading on idle speed rpm for my 53 Manhattan. I just picked up this vintage analyzer. It runs off of 3 C batteries so no issues hooking it up to 6 volt positive ground. BUT, how should I hook it up to the car? Manual diagram seems to be screwed up seeing as the red lead is going nowhere (see pic below). Also, should the red lead go to ground and the black lead somewhere on the coil?

General Discussion / 1951 Frazer Rarity
« on: June 05, 2020, 11:59:12 AM »
Just sitting around daydreaming about cars I'd like to own and looking at listings online (as all car guys seem to do  ;)). I've always been partial to the strange styling of the '51 Frazer's. I've owned 3 Kaisers and I see Kaisers listed here and there for sale online occasionally. But what I've never seen listed is a '51 Frazer. Which got me thinking, how rare are these cars? Is it a pipe dream to find one in good shape at a decent price? By decent price I mean under 10 grand. As I said, just daydreaming..... ::)

Thank you everyone for all of the help. Hopefully I can get all of these parts into the hands of fellow KF owners very soon. Speaking of which, Konrad I have a bunch of those wheel covers. Let me sort through them and I'll send you a private message asap.

General Discussion / Part Identification
« on: May 27, 2020, 09:14:17 PM »
I recently acquired a load of parts that came with two 1953 Manhattans. I was able to identify most of them but I have a few I'm not sure of. Can anyone identify any of these? Please include specific models and applicable years if known. I plan to sell any of these that don't go to my '53 Manhattan and I want to make sure they go to the correct cars/people. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Parts For Sale & Wanted / WANTED: Front Bumper Bullet 53 Manhattan
« on: May 24, 2020, 11:09:00 PM »
Looking for a passenger side front bumper bullet like in the picture. It's for a 1953 Kaiser Manhattan. It's the only piece I'm missing for one of my recently acquired Kaisers. It doesn't have to be perfect. Could even have a little rust on it. As long as it's not rusted through or dented.

General Discussion / Gas Tank Questions
« on: April 19, 2016, 01:37:45 PM »
Recently dropped the tank on my '53 Manhattan. It seems to be in decent shape structurally. Bottom is dented but doesn't seem to be any rust through. However, when I took the sending unit out and looked down in there I realized that the pickup tube on this tank is not like other tanks I've worked on. It is not part of the sending unit. It is actually a separate piece that is soldered/brazed into the tank from the side. The internal tubing looks pretty bad. I think It needs to be replaced. But how to get to it? Looks like you'd have to melt the solder, replace the tube, and re-solder. Or maybe cut the tank open and weld it back together. Has anyone dealt with this?

Even if I cleaned the tank out and the tubing wasn't that bad after all, how would you coat the inside of the tank with that tube in there? Wouldn't the coating solidify inside the tubing and clog it up?
