Hmmmm, my Vagabond 4 cylinder doesn't have a deck lid or continental spare.  Never did, either.  Does have the "Vagabond" script on the front fenders.

Was the oil pump installed correctly?

The rubber washers come with the pin kits, not the kingpin kit. As in upper and lower outer A arm threaded bushing kits.

Hey, that's easy.  The HJ has a three inch spring that goes horizontal.  Really weird.  And a real pain to reassemble.   :(

Don't think the parts or shop manual details the assembly of the head lamp units.  The two adjusters should be disassembled and re-tapped, 10-32, I think.  The spring goes around the circumference, as I recall.  It's a real Gold Goldberg.  If you wish I can take photos of the assembly when I return home in a month and post on this forum.

The bulge goes out.  Using a large 3/4" flat aluminum bar, tap the bulge in and the freeze plug will expand and stay in.  I use some #2 sealer on the hole before setting the disc.  Never had one leak.

I installed new window "fuzzies" in my '51 Kaiser this week. Certainly gives it a more finished look. You'll likely break every clip getting the old ones off but new clips are available from Restoration Specialties, part number 2348-WIN (pack of 10). http://stores.restorationspecialties.com/2348-win-package-…/

Ah ha...I see a Henry J parked in the background.  Excellent choice.  Do you have the part numbers of both the fuzzy that mounts on the top of the steel door like you are doing on your Kaiser and the channel that fits into the door window frame that the glass slides in for the Henry J?

Thanks, Fid.

Found this on the internet.  Has current manufacturers cross reference part numbers for many Henry J parts.  Very useful.  And it's free.   :)

Also used in Jeep and Int. Scout.  Rock auto has all HJ cylinders for $14 each.  It's the shoes that are hard to locate.

You're polarizing the generator, not the regulator.  By briefly connecting the armature to battery hot the generator armature is magnetized to the correct north-south polarity, so when the generator rotates, it produces the correct polarity voltage.

Wow, $400 for a Henry J radio.  I have an NOS H J Delco radio in several factory boxes down to the smallest screws including installation instructions.  Tested it when received 15-20 years ago and required a new vibrator, then operated well. Wonder what it's worth?  Believe it came from Parker or Walker.  I repair and restore old tube radios, 1920-1960.

Here is a photo of my right front, the lining is shorter on right side, the ones shown have lining like the one on left, will those work?

Your shoes are installed reverse.  Long goes to front, short to rear.
