Manufacturing Fund Forum / Re: Burgundy Dragon Interior, 1953

I was told that it is not an exact match so I sent them a swatch of my material.  They sent me what they had.  It was close but not a match.

Just a suggestion, I'd like to see some burgundy dragon vinyl made available.  Molded rubber parts seem a likely need across all product lines.

I wonder what it might cost to have a quantity of this material made.  There seems to be a lot of demand.  I would consider underwriting some of the cost if it would be feasible.

FID,
When I was having the problem I did not have time at first so I replaced the fuse with a 30a circuit breaker.  It still popped the breaker but it would reset on its own, so I got by like that for a while.  When I finally got around to diagnosing it I first replaced the solenoid.  The problem did not go away.  After checking all of the wires and switches to not be the problem I bought a new relay and installed it.  The problem never returned.  The relay was $185.

I fixed mine by increasing the thickness of the two rear fender bumpers so that the hood sits slightly higher in the rear when closed.

I had the same problem.  A new relay fixed mine.

I passed the info to my friend.  I have heard nothing since.  I will see him again at our March meeting.

Everything was placed with my friend on Saturday night.  I hope he finds something he likes!  Thanks for all of your help in compiling the information.

Thanks for all of the feedback.  I will share this topic with my friend on our next meeting.  I left a narrative on reply 7 to offer an example of the kind of quality he is looking for.  He does not want to do a lot of work to it.  He wants to drive and enjoy it.  He placed no price qualifications on his request.  I feel confident that there are cars like this out there.  I had hoped that someone might want to part with one.

Attached photo is my Henry J.  It is a daily driver if I choose to do so.  Its only deficiency is the drivers side front seat upholstery (Dragon) needs replaced.  51 Deluxe, 6 cylinder with overdrive, still 6 volt system, everything still works!  I believe it has every option offered.  Body is Bondo free and rust free. I just replaced the original spark plugs about 2 months ago.  My friend is looking for something comparable.

Please tell me more, including condition and asking price.

Not picky.

I have a friend that seeks to acquire a turnkey Henry J or Allstate.  Any body got one they want to part with?

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Horn Switch
« on: November 29, 2014, 07:16:57 AM »
I am in need of a horn switch for my Henry J.  The springs in the switch are getting weak and the horn blows when you hit a bump.  I am also looking for dash control knobs and the rubber insulator that goes between the bottom of the front fender and the valence for the right side.
