Is it possible to replace piston rings with the engine in the car?   It is a 51DeLuxe.   I know the pan can be removed, but I am concerned the frame may block easy access to the rod bearings.  Doesn’t need boring or crank work.

While doing valves on my 226 I separated the manifold to clean it up and paint.  No broken studs!  When bolting the two halves back together after painting,  it appeared the intake and exhaust ports are not lining up on the same flat plane where bolted to the block.  They are about 1/16 “ different, but I am concerned about doing something wrong and having leaks.  Is this normal and the gasket will sufficiently make up for any gap?

Does anyone know of an off the shelf replacement muffler for a 51 Deluxe?  It had a smaller inlet/outlet than later models.

Parts For Sale & Wanted / Steering Column Rubber Dash Seal

Does anyone have a source for the rubber dust seal grommet (51 Kaiser Deluxe) where the steering column jacket cover meets the chrome dash?  Been searching without success.  Perhaps another rubber grommet can be adapted?  In the parts list it may be described as a “filler”, but without a photo it is hard to identify.

I need to remove the headlight switch on my 51 Deluxe. I removed the knob, but after that I don't see A conventional nut holding the switch.  Don't want to damage the chrome by guessing how to proceed.  Anyone have experience with this?
