Sounds like a dead short and a relay trips after handling the load for 4 seconds.  Look for a wire that has grounded out between the headlights and relay or switch

Add one more, gas cap gasket bad.  Add warm conditions and garage has a lingering gasoline stink.  Chased for couple months looked at all of above time and again.  Took cap off one day and looked at underside, saw tear in gasket, replaced.  No odor since.

Most of business office limited water and smoke damage.  From what i was told safe with titles and key paperwork survived ok.  My purchase safe and it appears paperwork intact.
Yes, serious loss of vehicles but no people and could have been many more gone if had spread to other buildings.  Location by interstate led to large number of people calling in the fire from early on in the event.

Yikes, just there Saturday, at CCC- Country Classic Cars, bought an IHC pickup- was expected to ship out today or Thursday.  Lovely.  It was stored away from burned buildings BUT paperwork is in office that burned- though i saw safes and fire rated file cabinets- can only hope records are intact and once the mess settles i still have my purchase and titlework.  Reason i keep key paperwork in either fire safe or fire rated file cabinet.  Building that burned i remember as having the higher end vehicles they were offering

pic issue may be a change at Photobucket if you are using them to host.  The Bucket is no longer letting a third party website link to and open pictures hosted at teh Bucket- as i understand their business practice change.

Parts For Sale & Wanted / Re: 54 Kaiser Manhattan Power Steering
« on: June 07, 2017, 01:16:47 PM »
let the experts speak but most early power steering systems were an add on hydraulic ram or two working together to assist the normal steering gearbox.  Air in the ram will make for irregular resistance as you steer side to side.  But shaking more likely something worn- center point link, loose tie rod end, or even loose wheel bearings.

Correct, observe the same polarity- like to like regardless of + or - ground.

Willys Forum / Re: Port and polish
« on: February 13, 2017, 09:19:20 AM »
Since the 226 was used by WIllys in their FC and Wagon lines for many years i have seen some port and polish referenced in Jeep Forums addressing the WILLYS vehicles noted above.  Not much positive comments that the efforts paid off.  Ihave wondered if they ever tried to add in a transfer slot as you woudl find in later hudson six engines.  cleaning and polishing of the transfer slot helped those engines breath better at higher rpm and with other upgrades.
