 I used to make springs for a living, the Springs on e-bay have been stretched if you need a new spring for your HJ and want a stronger one find one with the same wire size but get with  about 1/4" smaller O.D and the same amount of coils. smaller O.D makes it stronger, less coils makes it stronger. Buy a new spring, a 50+ year old spring will be kinda brittle.

Actually the car it two tone green, i assumed the car was a car lot repaint but others seem to think it was a factory two tone. I have 2 other Henry j's, all 51's grey blue no trunk.

My Henry J  is two tone green, the Studebaker is close to the darker green.

An odd thing, I have  1951 Henry J body 2239
and a 1951 Studebaker Business Coupe body 2233
and both are green

Then why is the original color green, even has factory ink stamping on the cowl next to the data plate, car only has 25,xxx miles on it
