The 52 Willys Aero Wing in the photo is mine.  I am not sure if it is either driver quality or driver capable but I am having fun with it!

I didn't install them but they look like the right ones.  Part Number 116035.

Awesome!  Worth ordering a couple and trying them.  Found out that my driveshaft is bent to I took it to my old reliable place in Toledo that rebuilds drive shafts.  They mentioned about how old it was and said that they used to fix them for old Jeep vehicles.  That is what made me look for the boot.

Does anyone know if this is the correct one or not?

Willys Forum / Re: New Willys Aero Wiring Harness
« on: August 09, 2018, 06:14:24 AM »
A member of the KFOCI makes wiring harnesses for any Kaiser - including yours. If you're a member of the club, check your bulletin as he advertises from time to time. His harnesses are correct and fit, I've used his services several times.
Is the fellow that you are mentioning? - The name Robert McBride cam up in a couple of searches so I gave him a call (772) 466-3510.  He told me that he doesn't make a harness for the Aero but, a place called Rhode Island Wiring does and that he actually buys some of his wire from them.  Robert said that he could make a harness if he had one to use for a pattern if anyone is interested.

Willys Forum / Re: 52 Willys Aero Lark front shock absorbers

Thanks!  At least I accomplished SOMETHING before retiring from Monroe after 24 years of service.  LOL!

Like I mentioned above, I have 3 extra pair that I could ship out either reworked or as is.  The as is price is the same as Summit at $32.00 a pair plus shipping.
The re-worked price is $50.00 a pair plus shipping.

I finally took the time today to complete the research.  I found a really good replacement shock absorber for the front that doesn't require a lot of rework to fit.
Basically, you have to cut the bottom mounting sleeve to the correct length (1 3/16").
Monroe Part Number 32067.  The application is 1965-70 Buick full size and 1965-76 Cadillac.

Here is a picture of the old shock and the new one side by side.

The bottom mounts side by side.  The inside diameter is correct and matches the old shock.

I used a arbor press and pushed the sleeve out enough so that I could cut it off.

Cut off and centered back up and ready to bolt on.

I had ordered a few extra pair so if anyone needs a pair let me know.

Cars For Sale & Wanted / Re: '55 Aero Custom

I would bet $1500.00/$1800.00 cash would buy it.
I would go look at it but I don't need or want another project.  That one looks worse but is really not all that worse than the 52 that I bought.  The guy started at 3K and re-listed at $2500.00.  I took $2200.00 in cash with me and that was going to be my max.  I asked the seller how much he needed for it today and he wouldn't give me a number.  He insisted that I make the offer so I hessitated and threw out $1800.00 and he said "Sold!"
There doesn't seem to be any $100 to $500 dollar parts cars anymore.  They have all become $1000.00 + parts cars now.

Thanks for a great post!
Here is a listing for Brake Shoes.

Thanks.  Yep I had planned on bugging him if no one responded.  I need to make a list  of other parts that I need as well.  I will need a trunk lock set and the hood ornament backing plate if there is one.

Thanks for the leads!
I have sandblasted and painted pot metal before and yes, it is a little softer under the plating.  I have used JB Weld to fill in the pits but probably could have just used regular old bondo.  Using a etching primer or "Wash Primer" on the bare metal is the most critical part.  I am looking to paint them body color so it will be a easier process.

I am looking for a set of rough Hooded Head Light bezels that I can sandblast, fill the pits, and paint.
I would like to find a set of hooded turn signal bezels as well.
Thanks,  Rick
