Kaiser Forum / Re: New issue with my 51

Check the line from the engine to the gauge for any leaks (you would probably have noticed by now). If line is not leaking you should confirm that your engine actually has oil pressure - oil pumps fail, oil pressure bypass springs fail, engines fail. Your gauge might be correct. Confirm with another gauge if you can.

Bearings (and pretty much anything else) are pretty easy to get for Kaiser (Continental) 226 which was used for many agricultural and industrial applications for many years.
as a start try  https://www.jensales.com/categories/continental-engines/f226.html

You guys are kidding, right?
KF cars are great fun - remember? Limiting access to info will not help your cause.

Kaiser Forum / Re: Ticking noise in engine and # 6 only reading 77 #s
« on: July 26, 2019, 11:28:18 AM »
Hard to diagnose on just that, but I would guess stuck (or badly adjusted) exhaust valve on #6. I'd expect better compression on a fresh overhaul even if rings were broken. If it were me I would take off the valve cover and see what's up with #6 valves.
If you're near zip 12546, stop by and I'll assist.

Kaiser Forum / Re: KF Assembly Line
« on: December 07, 2018, 01:53:47 PM »
I'm curious about the floor.  Looks like older bricks with a very straight track which has been filled in with a series of wooden blocks. I know this was originally an airplane factory, but I also remember reading that quite a bit of time and expense went into refitting the place for car making. I wonder whether it is from its airplane years or from the refit. I also wonder what that track was used for and, if it was one of Frazer's ideas, why it was decided not to use it any more.
Really wish I could walk down that assembly line and fill a few shopping carts to use now!

tag says model 485, so not a manhattan (which would be a 486). steering wheel is also a giveaway - manhattan had a fancier, larger center. Definitely in better shape than mine!

She is clearly writing just to entertain, but you have to admit the other 9 cars on her list are pretty bad.
What cars would you have put on that list? '58-'60 Thunderbirds would be on mine.
I wouldn't mind a nice Henry J though.
