I have a used whip antenna that came off of a 54, it looks to be in serviceable condition.  I will ask $10.00 plus shipping. John

I've started a restore of a 1952 Henry J Corsair. I'm planning some light modifications, and would like to source stainless steel trim that matches the front fender crease and the rear fender crease above the rear wheel.  Does anyone have a suggestion as to what would work?

Thank you for the photo, the 54 power steering set up is different. I've included a couple of shots of my car.  The problem seems to be that after everything is aligned according to the specifications and I turn the steering wheel off of dead center the wheels do not stay parallel.

I've completely rebuilt the front end of my car with new springs, king pins steering arms and a beefed up sway-bar.  Now it doesn't steer safe! Foolishly I did not photograph the original lay out and now I'm at a loss as how to re-assemble it so it can be driven without scrubbing off all of my tire tread.   I would appreciate any photos and leads for replacement parts that could get my car back on the road.  Thanks, John

There is a bracket on each side that holds the vent control cables for fresh air, are those the ones you are thinking about?

My 1953 Manhattan had a loosely woven jute or twisted paper material, that was essentially beige with a few red flecks in it. My restoration of the 54 is as follows: https://picasaweb.google.com/109133693071173361394/Kaiser  I used a gray unwoven carpet material.

Your best bet is to find a 54/55 Manhattan and salvage the entire window assy.  You may need to heat the rubber to soften it, clean it and use liquid rubber to fill cracks, then trim with a razor.  It is a tedious job but the results can be satisfactory.

Under the hood was filled with a fiber glass insulation that usually deteriorated after a few miles.

I use Shell Rotella 10W-40 in my car, (54 Kaiser) it has added protection and although designed for diesel engines it works very well in gas engines too with the added detergents it keeps everything pretty clean.

Sorry I don't check in as often as I should. I did not remove the steering column I pulled the steering box from under the car, the vibration dampener is a flat surface, I did disconnect the horn wire from the relay.

Logan,
You remove the steering box at the vibration dampener on the steering column, 3 bolts. I had to use a bench press to remove the pitman arm from the gear box. I couldn't get it off even using heat. The mounting bolts to the frame is pretty standard.  Finally Lars corp also rebuilds steering boxes and I have had good luck with them.  John
