Henry J & Allstate Forum / Rocker panels
« on: April 09, 2024, 07:34:44 PM »
So I'm finally getting around to replacing some past rocker repair on my '53. I have a set of supposedly NOS rockers, but one has tabs and the other does not. Whoever did the repair in the past just slapped some rockers from undetermined origin, and did not replace the inners. Does anyone have detailed pictures of how everything is supposed to be?
Thank in advance.
Larry

@Darrin100
I agree with you 100%. I refuse to join FB, mainly for the reasons you bring up.
My wife is always telling me that she came across some amazing content on FB, but when she goes to share with me, she can't find it.

In the top picture, the item labeled SuperStrut is a 1/2" thinwall conduit clamp for use with U-channel. Google Unistrut.

I am the Website Administrator of our local SCCA Region. I now have to rely on Facebook to gather information for the site. Thank God that the Regions FB is public, because I refuse to join (FB).

At the bottom of the Home page, there is a tab called Forum Stats.
Click on [More Stats] https://kfclub.com/forum/index.php?action=stats and you will see that there is a major downward trend in Forum usage.
(I personally blame Facebook)

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Re: 51 HJ Wiring Harness

Larry I believe your car is a '53 which would have Delco electrics and the harness is different than the early cars that have Autolite.

You are correct, and thanks for the info about Rhode Island wiring.

If you don't feel comfortable with doing electrical work, it may be best to let someone who is do it.

I have been an electrician all of my working life. Do I feel comfortable doing it? Hmmmm!  :)

I too need new wiring for my '53 HJ, but I'm kind of on the fence as the whether I want to use the OEM cloth-type wiring, or modern plastic. I certainly DO NOT want to use any soy-based wires. The mice have already done enough damage to the interior.
Please let us know if you find a source for a harness.

My terminal block had a missing ceramic insulator. I fired up the 3D printer and made 3 out of PLA (plastic).
I can make more if anyone is interested. $10 for 3, free shipping. Message me if interested.

Parts For Sale & Wanted / Re: Wanted: exhaust down pipe
« on: February 07, 2023, 10:43:31 AM »
You might be able to piece together the front half of a new Jeep pipe with the back half of your existing - but only if the new pipe has the same bend off the manifold as the old. There's isn't much room for the pipe so whatever you use, it has to be a very close match.

That is what I had in mind. My down pipe has a few small holes at the bottom of the bend, the rest of the system seems to be intact.
Thanks for the link. I will be contacting Waldron.
