Gorgeous Traveler John!

Question...what is that air cooler I saw under-dash, between the seats?  I wants one.  :D

Kaiser Forum / Re: Solved the vapor lock issue, '51 KD

It's possible it's running between the manifold and the radiator...but the last time I took a good look at it, it appeared it was running up between the connections of the intake and exhaust manifolds.  It's also possible it could have been rerouted when the vehicle was redone in the early 80s, long before I got it, though I don't know why anyone would reroute it that way, unless they were idjits...

If I were to have it rerouted, I would take it up across the firewall, around and then into the carb.

Well now you can.  :)

Along with a still from said movie.  Or any other car make/model you can think of.

Start be selecting the 'all vehicle makes' option, then you can drill down to a specific model or chassis code and it will bring up a list of all movies/tv shows/commercials that featured that model car, showing a photo from said film, etc.  Click on the photo to see it in higher resolution/larger pic.

Solved the vapor lock issue on my 51 Deluxe by adding an electric fuel pump.  Another possible solution is to rerun the fuel line so it does not pass through the manifold.

Parts For Sale & Wanted / Re: Starter Needed
« on: May 21, 2023, 03:32:43 PM »
I would recommend contacting Larry Barker in AZ.  He has many parts and while he may not have a new or used starter, he likely has a working used one, and/or the parts to have one rebuilt.  You can reach Larry at 480-843-8110.  Best time I've found to call him is right around 9am or shortly thereafter (his time).  You can leave a message if he doesn't answer, but I'm not sure how quickly he'll get back to you...I've had my best luck just calling as above, try again the next day if I don't get him between 9 and 9:45.

Alternatively, you can find a number of starter rebuild parts here:  http://kfparts.com/store/product-category/group-7-electrical/starter-motors-parts/

Potentially you could find someone local (with the appropriate knowledge to these orphan cars) who could diagnose and rebuild your starter with the right parts.

I would recommend a search (google, bing, duckduckgo) for an upholsterer who specializes in classic cars, then start sending out some emails, make phone calls to determine if any you find have experience with Kaisers.

Highly likely you'll fine one, at least in CA, unless they've all moved out due to the political and monetary climate in that failed state...

I know this is basic and you've probably already checked it, but is the tranny fluid level up to snuff?  Low fluid is a frequent cause of transmission slippage.

The best info I've gleaned to date...late 50s to early 60s (up to about '64/'65) Rambler power steering components can be fairly easily converted to use on our Kaiser beasties.

Hello Konrad

A shame we still don't know what brand or vendor you bought your headlights from...you know, something that may help another member make a decision?

Ahh well...glad that whichever ones you bought have worked out for you.

Very pleased with results of LED 6 Volt headlights.
Dave F.

Did you order the ones I'd found and suggested, or from another vendor?

Come on man!  Give with the details!!!  :D
