Parts For Sale & Wanted / Body Parts for 1952 Kaiser Manhattan
« on: October 28, 2016, 11:29:33 AM »
When I purchased my 1953 Manhattan it came with 4 doors, both front fenders, the hood and the trunk lid off of a 1952 Manhattan.  I am cleaning up my shop and they take up a huge amount of space.  I want to get rid of them.  Do they have any value or should I scrap them.  Lee Crump, Olympia, Washington

I just purchased an old school shop jack.  It is the type that lifts all of the front or rear.  What is the best way to make sure that I don't do any damage.

General Discussion / Front Wheel Cylinder on 1953 Kaiser Manhatten
« on: August 15, 2015, 11:31:44 PM »
I am rebuilding the front brakes and I find that there are 2 bore sizes on the same cylinder.  1 1/8" to the front and 1" to the rear.  Does this make sense?

My front bumper is pealing and will need to be re chromed or replaced.

As far as the manuals, I do not have the parts manual and supplement.  If anyone knows where I can get them I would appreciate the information.

Thank you,

Will the bumpers from a 1951 Manhattan fit a 1953?

After sitting so lone there will be no oil on the cylinder walls and cranking it over will not do the job.  I would suggest that you put a couple of squirts of oil into each cylinder thurough the spark plug hole.  Let it sit to spread and then give it a try.  It will increase your compression significantly enough that if everything else is good it should start.

If you thoroughly flooded it you may have washed down the cylinder walls and lost compression.  When I let my Kaiser set for a couple of years an old mechanic had me put a little oil into each cylinder.  It worked but it smoked until the oil burned out.

« on: August 25, 2011, 07:14:55 PM »
I have a 1953 Kaiser Manhattan.  I don't have the battery tie down bolts or top rack.  Does anyone know where I can purchase these?

Thank you.
