There is also a special tool and procedure for checking and setting the linkage for the hydramatics.  The directions for the procedure should be available on the 'Circle KF' website. (this is posted actually by ldladykf@yahoo.com - not vt2000driver)

please for safety sake at a minimum have the fuel pump wired so it only works with the key on.  that way if something goes bad turn off the key and the gas stops.  and have a fuse put in line from the key to the switch.  safety first!

THE REAL QUESTION IS THE DISTANCE TRAVELED.  IF IT IS CORRECT (AS COMPARED TO MILE MARKERS) THEN IT IS IN THE HEAD AND CHANGING THE GEARS WONT HELP AT ALL.

I could not get mine to come off ether.  so I had my daughter (adult) put on the latex gloves and use her smaller hands to twist it.  it had NO choice but to move.  after the movement hit the horn ring and it came off.  now I need her to come back and put it back on.

after installing a completely NEW exhaust on the 51 two door, the tail pipe seems to be pointed slightly up.  it can not be turned any other way . if it is wrong I will have to bend it down or add a chrome tip.  I am afraid of exhaust in the eddy wind.

konrad if the pins are straight across compare with the new bulbs and the old one and grind of the pin that is wrong .  that is what i had to do with my 51 to put in the new LED bulbs.

remember if you jack up the engine to take off the radiator hoses and maybe the radiator.   from experience the radiator hose connections don't like it

what is the approx. rpm for the kaiser 226 motor driving at about 60 to 65? cruising not max.
