Kaiser Forum / Re: REAR SEAT SPEAKER
« on: February 07, 2025, 05:44:01 PM »
Thank you, that's fascinating. I might like to do that. I need to get my radio going first and see if it can be heard from the back seat without the rear speaker. I think might be good to have the rear speaker anyway, but first things first. Someone said they had the installation instructions. That would be nice to see how it is done and what hardware might be needed. If I see another Kaiser around, I'll be sure and check out if they have the rear speaker!

Thank you, that's interesting. I don't exactly know what you mean by 'curb side', maybe because mine is a '51, but similar to '53' I think. If anyone has a picture will help greatly. Yes seems like a good place might be in the rear package shelf under the window. Thanks again!

Kaiser Forum / REAR SEAT SPEAKER
« on: February 03, 2025, 12:17:49 AM »
I see in the 1951 Accessory Price List there is a rear seat speaker 100218 for all Kaiser and Frazer models and all Radios. I can't seem to find a photo or image of where they mount or what they look like. Does anyone know? or preferably, does anyone have a picture? And is there a separate control for the rear speaker volume? If so where is that located? And I don't have the rear speaker. Any ideas where I might find one? Can PM me if you prefer. Thanks!

Kaiser Forum / need radio antenna
« on: January 30, 2024, 05:52:55 PM »
I need an antenna for the stock radio, 1951 Kaiser Deluxe. Anyone know where I might look? I'd like the kind that comes on when the radio is turned on. Does that require special equipment versus a manual antenna?

Kaiser Forum / REPLACING RADIO ANTENNA
« on: January 06, 2024, 08:46:27 PM »
I am replacing my radio antenna. On another post someone mentioned that the antenna can be either manual or vacuum. I assume vacuum means in theory it should telescope and raise to full length when you turn the radio on? And my second question to start with is, someone mentioned that a 1955-1959 Chevrolet truck antenna is a close match to go on a 1951 Kaiser Deluxe. Is that correct, or what antenna looks and functions most like the original? I'll try to add a picture of what mine looks like with the earlier antenna dropped down in the fender hole, my radio, and the 1958 chev truck antenna I found online, haven't bought just yet. Most of the ones I see online don't show a length. I'd like to find an automatic vacuum-raising 93-inch mast similar to the longer original manual-raising mast that was mentioned. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Been checking around online this morning. I don't see any of the 'ivory' colored buttons or knobs. I don't see them in the quarterly either. Does anyone know if they might be available someplace?

Interesting, might be a good time to do all that.

Thank you both. This is fascinating information! I have to decide which one to repair now. The Motorola that's in it looks better, but I don't know about the innards.

Thank you so much for this information and the photo. To add to the mystery, I am attaching a picture of the radio that was left for me in the trunk. It seems to be similar yet different to the one in your picture joefrazer. 5 buttons and the knob placement is slightly different. And the dial numbers are different. The sticker/label says it is model 100170. I wonder if this a stock radio out of a Kaiser+Frazer model car? Or if it was yet another aftermarket version? It looks most similar to the GE one in your picture.

Anyone have any info on these Motorola radios? I saw in earlier posts that they were not original to the cars. Someone mentioned that the faceplates may have even been aftermarket to resemble the original designs, but to suit the arrangement of the Motorola radio. I need wiring diagrams and/or model number, etc. I don't spot a model number on it yet, but haven't tried to remove it. Are there knobs and push-buttons available someplace? I do want to get it back operational though. Feel free to personal message me if preferred. Any info is appreciated.

Curious, would these diagrams apply to a 51 Kaiser Deluxe? Or maybe not, some things different?

Kaiser Forum / SEAT UPHOLSTERY AND HEADLINER
« on: May 20, 2023, 07:57:43 PM »
Hi I am looking for an upholsterer to do my seats, and someone to put in a new headliner. The floor carpet isn't bad, but could be replaced as well. I am located in Southern California, but could take the seats north or to Arizona or Nevada. The car is drivable so getting it someplace isn't an issue. SMS has the fabrics I need. Any recommendations for an installer?

Does anyone have a decent extra coolant reservoir, or know where I might look to find one? My 51 Kaiser Deluxe coolant/antifreeze reservoir has cracks and openings starting to form, no leaks yet I can see.

Oh, thank you. I hadn't noticed those two sections in Members Only Content, but I see them now. That's great!
