I have a '53 Dragon and the headlights don't work.  The parking lights and rear lights work.  The headlights suddenly stopped working.  Is there a fix for this or do I need another switch?
Does anyone have a switch for the '53?    Thanks,   Jim

Kaiser Forum / engine for '53 Kaiser Dragon
« on: August 17, 2021, 10:49:28 AM »
Hi,
Is there a source for a rebuilt engine?  I'm looking for either another engine or some shop to rebuild mine.  I live in Cotati in North Bay, Cal and can't find anyone familiar with the Kaiser motors.   Thanks,  Jim

Hi,
I'm in Cotati which is in Sonoma County  94931.  Yes the car is beautiful and I'm hoping to get as much as I can.  I just completed a restoration and had to pay $$ for the service.  The engine sounds smooth and powerful.  It was rebuilt by a club member who knows Kaisers.
However, I'm noticing what sounds like valve taps after the engine has been driven a while.  The oil pressure is still high and it's running cool but I think the buyer should be aware.   If you're interested, give me a call at 707/2173374 or send me a note.  Jim

Hi,   The vinyl top is not bamboo.  There is a roll of beige bamboo vinyl which is included with the car.  This will need to be stained black.

1953 Kaiser Dragon;   This is one of only 1277 produced.  Anodized gold plating for the fender script, hood and trunk “V” chrome parts, hood ornament and deck lid “Kaiser” script. It has power steering, automatic trans, vinyl top(extra vinyl roll included), extra sound insulation was standard, windshield washers and included a fader for the radio. The seats have bamboo vinyl and are topped with a designer Laguna fabric. The paint and chrome are excellent and it runs good. It's a beautiful car.  Best Offer.  Jim 707/2173374

Hi,
I've pulled radios and speakers out om a
'53 and never encountered the unsecured bolt head problem.  Have you tried unscrewing the nut while pulling up on it?  Maybe the screw head will hold while you do this.  As you've noticed, you can't get at the bolt head without removing the grill.

Yes the knob is a speaker fader and the AM radio sounds great now.   I hope I didn't post this twice.  Thanks,  Jim

yes, it has a rear speaker and I'll check this out.  That would be great if it's a fader.

Kaiser Forum / '53 Kaiser Dragon windshield washer question
« on: January 05, 2021, 08:05:11 PM »
Hi,
There is a knob to the right of the headlight switch which doesn't do anything  when turned.  I looked in the manual and don't see it mentioned.  Could this have something to do with the windshield washer?  thanks,  Jim

I'm working on getting both horns to work on my '53 as well.  I'll let you know what I discover.  Jim
