Starting work on the 52 and I am looking for a steering wheel in better condition then I have. I basically have a metal ring with a few bits of the original plastic left. It is a good core if I can be directed to a shop or individual who can rebuild it for us. Thanks for your assistance.

Worse case, have the block welded, bored and sleeved. Many machine shops that rebuild engines especially tractors can do this, if you are set on keeping the block you have.

Check you ground cables and maybe take a ground right to the case of the starter where it bolts to the back of the block. Another to help cool the fuel, make yourself a cool can, get some 3/8" stainless steel tubing, and a tubing bender, make a coil with the tubing and bring the ends together, connect your fuel lines in and out to the carb and submerge the coil into a #10 can with ice water.

If packed well, you can ship greyhound for under $120.00 to most areas around the country. Just a thought.

General Discussion / Re: HOOD CABLE
« on: February 05, 2013, 10:54:57 PM »
If your housing is free of kinks, replace the inside cable with a new one. You can soak the old housing in some CLR cleaner and rinse with clear water. Allow it to air dry then use an aerosol graphite spray with the tube on the can, fill the cable housing with the graphite allow to dry then roll the cable a few time then insert the new cable into the housing and cut to the length you need and crimp the ends.  Rudy Phillips might have what you need and can save you a bunch of time. Good Luck.
