General Discussion / Re: Manufactering Fund. What do you need the most?

I would like to see shifter knobs and maybe dash knobs for various years reproduced. We have a very good set of dash knobs for our 48 Kaiser but the shifter knob has since degraded and fell apart (or crumbled would be appropriate too).
Anyone have a very good spare to sell?

We just bought a "master" kit for our '48 and this is what we received;
4 A-arm shafts with ends and seals (the shafts that mount the a-arms to the frame)
King pin kit (pins, bushings, shims, caps and bearings)
Upper spindle "eccentric" shaft with ends and seals (mounts the inner spindle to the upper a-arm)
Lower spindle shaft with ends and seals (mounts the inner spindle to the lower a-arm)
2 outer tie rod ends
We had to order the inners seperate but they are the same as the outers on '48 just swap the left outer to right inner and right outer to left inner.

We had the same problem but we were pointed to an old, local machine shop that had the proper shaft to mount the rear drums and turn them.

Allis-Chalmers tractors also used Continental engines. Both of the later 50's models we have use the OHV 4cyl. engines.

Here is an excellent source of color chips for all automobiles 1920 to the present.

Update:
The people above were able to formulate the "Willow Green" paint based on the old ACME chart and our glove box door.

I found last night in a bulletin the rims were painted the body color (Crystal Green)(I knew that as we have the original rims in very good shape) with Cabaret Green stripes on them. One more shade of green to find formulations for ???

How about the interior color? Is that the 121 code (Turf Green) under "trim" on the cowl tag?

Thanks!

Parts For Sale & Wanted / 47-48 Frazer parts for sale
« on: March 15, 2010, 07:30:16 PM »
I have a 48 Frazer grille, 3 piece front bumper, 4 bumper guards and bumper brackets for sale. If anyone is interested email me (mikeandjessi@hotmail.com) and I'll send some pictures. Based on a 1-5 scale, 5 being NOS or new these are about a 2-3 needed rechroming and some minor straightening to be perfect. I'm open to offers on all.
I will also have many other Frazer only interior parts becoming available as we disassemble our donor car. Other parts include the dash knobs, speedo/gauge assembly, Overdrive components, window cranks, door push buttons, etc...etc.

This one is just the opposite. The Crystal Green is almost black in appearance while the interior color is a dark (similar to a Forest) Green that is lighter than the exterior. Is the number under the trim the paint code for the interior? Ours is 121 which comes up as Turf Green on the chart but doesn't look the same as the color on the glove box door hinge. I'm baffled here why I can't find a match to the interior color anyplace.

Question for anyone/everyone who can help. Are the painted interior parts (dash, windshield and door trim, etc) the same color as the exterior color on a 1948 Kaiser. Ours is paint code 131 Crystal Green.
I also found the body tag and it reads as follows;
Model; 481
Body; 5
Paint; 131
Trim; 121
RD;
KI;
TR; 2
RA; 2
AN;
HR;
CL;
DR; 1
SL;
SPEC. FO;
CR;
SCHED; 141
ITEM NO; 360
BODY NUMBER; 78446
Thanks
