Yes thank you both!  I have always been impressed with the quality of KFOCI publications.

regarding the interior, the fabric is way off from original, but it is a nice job.  Fid is correct, the car should have 2318 Havana Blue Stockholm & Beaumont Cloth.   Here is a link to a youtube video of my Virginian with the original interior which has the same Stockholm/Beaumont fabric the Horizon blue car should have, but in a different shade:

The only thing better than one 49 Kaiser is two 49 Kaisers.  This is a proven fact.  That car is definitely the one I was thinking. Only Virginian I’ve ever seen in that color combo. Still think the power windows are crazy.

Is that the same car that came out of the Marple auction a little while back?  Love the color on that car, but the engine compartment looks like is still in the barn.  And as mentioned, interior is not even close to correct.  If it is the same car, it had rocker/quarter rot.  Given the engine compartment, I would inspect that car VERY closely in person if you are interested in it.

Just noticed the power windows.  Ultra rare on a Virginian.  Love to know the history.

That car is tempting....  especially since I have a pair of original paint Glass Green '49 Kaiser skirts with the same patina as that car...

Guys,

Thanks for your help. We are trying to understand the purpose of that valance over the back rib that is in the nice photo you provided.  I am guessing the rear window in the center does not unzip, and it looks like the windows are all a part of the rear top area and that the vinyl ribs are stitched to the window itself. I am going to study this a bit more. It would be great to be able to see under that valance!

Best,

Rex

Center rear window does in fact unzip (at least on my '51).  The "rain flap" on the last roof rib in the photo is correct.

Has the owner given anyone a ballpark on what price takes it home?

So what is the status of this collection?  Is it coming up for sale?  Looks like a prime Vanderbrink target.

As one who regretfully gave up on a Polar Grey Virginian (in bad shape) I ask: where in the heck are you ever going to find the back window for a Virginian to replace the one missing in the photo?  Unobtainium!   And where are the bars?

I removed my glass and sold them to a KF guy in St. Louis at a modest price.  Removal was tough and stressful.

Rudy got my hinges and some other parts.
.

Ha!  I'm the guy in St. Louis who bought the glass.  I have always thought it would be a disaster to break a window in my Virginian so I sleep better having the spares....

Stunning car.  Nice to see them done right.

'49-'50 Virginians had a padded top covered in nylon.  My car has the original material.  It is weird stuff.
