Late specials probably did too, but not sure.

I owned a late Special for many years.  It only had 1 pillar light on the drivers pillar, no courtesy lights.  All four doors operated that one pillar light.

I have an opportunity to get a power steering system off of a car that is being scrapped out.

What are the parts that need to be removed that are unique to the power steering cars.

Pump
Fan pulley
Crankshaft Pulley
Belts
Hoses
Brackets
Hydraulic assist cylinder

What other unique parts might be removed?

Thanks

Btw this is s 53

Kaiser Forum / Re: Need Picture of a solid Jade Green Metallic 53

It is 202 jade green metallic.

The car is pictured in my first post.

I am curious to see what a restored example of jade green metallic looks like.   My car is still in original paint so it is well faded and very thin on the hood

My decision is whether not I want to stay with the original color or if I want to go after a personal preference I am not concerned with any impact of value if I choose to do a color change.    I would however stay with an original Kaiser color.  Since the original jade green and bamboo interior is serviceable I want to stay with a color that compliments the interior so I am somewhat limited to a shade of green, white or yellow.

Does anybody have a picture that they could share of a solid jade green 53 Manhattan.  I recently purchased one and can only find images of a two-tone jade green 53.   I am trying to decide whether I should stay with the original color or change it. I have always liked the image of the ivory and green  from the brochure where the car appears to be yellow with the green roof.  So I am considering his soft yellow bottom possibly yellow satin from the 54 Darrin.

 Ideas or comments.

I grew up approximately 10 miles from where the auction was located.

I remember as a teenager going to see his collection and seeing this car.

Once the auction started there were only two bidders,  myself and an online bidder. Having the chance to examine the car I actually upped my bid.

I was able to go out west and actually work a little on the car today and am quite pleased.  So far I have only found surface rust.  The door my even be saveable.  It needs new door hinges.   Cars this clean are normally not found in Minnesota.

Last licensed in 1958.  It came with an original K key, and title card.

To answer a few questions yes that is the original carpeting.

Those are original seats, they are faded
but they are the correct original seats.

30416 miles, interior and drivetrain original (Unrestored) with the exception of the top an interior kick

The body was completely restored back in 2000 body was off the frame new fiberglass and correct yellow satin paint

I am the fourth owner of the car and have owned it since 1987. The previous owner was John Haller and he owned the car from approximately 1963. The car was originally sold in Chicago.

The car shows  it shows it's age very well, it is complete except for one of the ashtray handle. And there are 3 thumb screw brackets that secure the top to the top compartment, the one in the center is missing.

It is a car that can be driven or showed without any apologies.

Asking $98,000.00 open to offers.
