Are those the same front bumper guards as the 51 Kaiser?
I don't recognize the tail lights...
Does anyone know what they are from?

Cars For Sale & Wanted / Re: 1953 Willys Aero Lark 4-door for sale
« on: February 20, 2012, 11:07:47 AM »
Heres what I got....
An original very solid running 1953 aeroace 4door 161 F head 6cyl.
Im trying tokeep it  original and complete and therefor want to replce the broken or missing items.
Im located in Woodstock Ontario Canada
My truck emblem "W" is broken and so is the aeroace emblem.
I believe the hubcaps I need are the dog dish type with a "W" pressed in.
One other small thing Im missing is  the stainless clip in bottom centre of the rear window trim.

I could use  the truck script (Areo ace) and the "W" (key cover assembly)  and a couple of hubcaps if you want to sell them.  Put a price on the stuff.  Email me if you can and Ill get back to you.    bonsconroy@rogers.com

Willys Forum / Re: brake shoes (front and rear)

Why not have your original shoes relined? I've had this done many times with very good results.

Gary, aka dar
Not a bad idea, but... I'm short some of the shoes.
Some of the white box deals are so cheap I was hoping to get lucky with a currant crossover.
I was hoping some one could confirm that Bendix R176 or BFR176 was a good fit ...
Or someone had a Raybestos #.
Does a 53 HenryJ corsair us the the same front and rear brakes? (JC Whitney has listing for them)
Thanks

I got a bendix # 49042 on the front shoes.
After some research I think it translates to Bendix R176 and BFR176. ;D ;D
Can anyone confirm that is correct? :-\ ( I meassure the drum ID as 9"x2" and 10"OD. as I understand this R176 is for 10"x2" drum.
Now I'm confused. ???
Can someone set me straight.
The correct Bendix # and possibally a Raybestos # would really help out.(no one hear carries them in stock. I have to order them to compare them I'm stuck with them at around $58. I'd rather get it right the first time)(I've seen this # listed at $28 on line.
A more currant application with the same shoes would also be handy for ordering replacement since no one lists 53willys. ( this worked real good for the wheel cylinders flex hoses. Same as 73Maverick ).Front and Rear if available
Thanks

Willys Forum / Re: 53 hurricane aeroace

Hello, the block on your car should be an off white. The valve cover is gloss black and the fan blade, starter and generator are semi gloss black.

The same engine in the Willys trucks was painted either medium fray, silver or dark green...depending upon the year.

It does get confusing!!
Thanks again. :)
I plan on painting the engine the correct colours if possible.
Their was a hint of white but I was affraid someone may have repainted it a different colour.
So white it will be again ;)

I'm wondering what the proper colour is for an "F" head 161 hurricane.
I have a 53 . ::)
It appears to have a white or creamy colour on the block with a black valve cover. :-\
Someone told me it should be goldy colour. I've heard that they had no colour just a bare block no paint. ???
What's right? Does anyone know? 8)
I'm tempted to paint it a charcoal grey with black covers
Thanks in advance

Thanks again

I have a 53 aero ace. ;D
It's a 4 door 161cyl"F"head hurrican split window.
I need some pieces to finish it.
I need tail light lenses and one housing.
I have all the emblems/script but they need refinishing (Pitted)(I was quoted $125.00ea to redo them). It seemed a little rich.. As a result of that quote I'm hoping to find reproduction emblems but can't find a sorce. Does anyone know where I can find these items ?(Willys fender script,Aeroace trunk script,Tail light lenses, I also need the W on the trunk lid that covers the keylock.
