It sure has been a long time to go without the forum. Any one know what happened?

Once you depress the spring, turn the cylinder counter clockwise and pull it out. You should also disconnect the battery.

Oct 14-17 2022 would be a great date for the Meet. Mike Neubecker has an add or sign up in this month's News Bulletin, someone had better get their dates straightened out. I will send my money in for the October meet.

I have been reading in the club newsletter 2 different dates for the 2022 National Convention. Is it in July or October?

I have only been to one National meet, Shipshewana,IN, and it was great! But I do not only have a Manhattan, I also have other brands. They take precedence over KF Nationals. But upon hearing about the 2022 National in Jackson, MI, I am planning on going to that meet. My car will need to be trailered since it won't be drivable, but I do plan on showing it. Thank you for your time with getting the word out about upcoming events. I would not have known otherwise.

Try Larry Barker. He still has complete sets.

Do the old fashioned trick, tap on the starter with a small hammer. You may have a dead spot on the armature. Tapping on the starter usually moves the armature just enough to be able to start the car. If that is the case, a rebuild is the next step to the starter.

Kaiser Forum / Re: rocker panel replacement for '54 Kaiser M
« on: January 12, 2021, 09:44:01 PM »
You are correct. The inner is fairly flat sheet stock and the outer is contoured. I replaced one rocker on my 54. I got the rocker from C2C. The metal is much softer than the original sheet metal and the contours and sharp crease lines are not as sharp. I'm sure someone in the club has NOS rockers. I wish I would have looked harder for NOS pieces, but the C2C rockers do work with a little customization.

Look for a starter rebuild company. I have any and all of my starters done at Finicki in Madison, WI. 608-243-8731

I have looked at the CD, it does have great info, but like most little things, it has been misplaced. I restore carburetors on the side, and this forum has provided pictures that are not available on the CD. I have also found radio repair, body parts and other KF related items on the forum that never made it to the Bulletin. A free forum is the best "In" for our club. I started on this forum before I became a member of the club. Facebook may be a good place to have a Forum, but you need to have an account. I don't need or want Facebook knowing what I do.

I've been a member of KFOCI now for 8 years. I don't have a Facebook account, nor do I want one. I use this Forum for entertainment and learning about KF. Without this Forum it will be time to sell my Manhattan and get out of the club. Thanks guys for the memories.

Many years ago, club member Ken Lindsey, rebuilt a ram for me. He took it to a machine shop in Peoria, IL. They lightly bored it out to remove the pitting in the bore. Maybe you could have your mechanic take it to a machine shop and have them take a look at the bore? Just an option for you.

The manufacturing fund has the 54 tanks. Are you a member of KFOCI? You will need to be, if you want to buy a tank.

General Discussion / Re: Speedometer drive gear changes
« on: June 16, 2020, 10:48:47 AM »
If it is like my Muncie trans in my GTO, changing the tooth count by 1, the MPH changes by 5 MPH. The gear in a Muncie 4 speed is about 3/4" in diameter. If the gear is in a turbo 350 or 400 trans, you need to change about 8 or 9 teeth for 5 MPH. That gear is about 1 1/2" in diameter. Hope that helps.
