A little tip on packing wheel brngs. People sometimes wash them in an oily solvent and the grease wont stick to them. I always finished up by washing them in gas of laquer thinner then blow them dry before packing. CAUTION do not let them spin while blowing. If you wipe grease over the brng and it dont stick you havent got them clean enough.

Brakes can feel spongy if the shoes dont contact the drums perfectly. If they pump up they arent adjusted correctly. This is assuming you have all the air removed. Also be sure you have a small amount of free travel at the top of the brake pedal to assure the M cyl is completely released.

Y ou are making one large mistake. I have messed around with these engines for many years and they are by no means a hot rod. You are dealing with some guys that dont know what they are talking about. As stated above a long stroke engine is made for torque not speed. Hate to see anyone spend a lot of money building a bomb.

Have used these on the old Chevys years ago. Helped but dont last too long on a daily driver, might be OK on collecter cars.

Pumps that have been around for years will usually fail soon after installation. Been there done that.

Jathick a wheel up and see if it turns freely. This will tell you if there is pressure in the system. Just went thru this on an old Dodge truck.

I have used distilled water with no side affects. If your bubbles are sporadic that's one thing if they are a steady stream that's worrysome.

That is an exact match for the one I had when I was 18 years old even the color. Only difference mine didn't have fuel injection.

Sounds like you get some of the same thing I get. Everyone wants to argue over my posts, guess 60 years of experience don't mean much.

On another old car site the guys are using the lube that John Deere uses in the gear boxes on their corn heads.
