General Discussion / Re: Membership Renewal

Why aren't we accepting renewals at the old rate until the new price kicks in at a future date?  That is an incentive to renew early.

That was a very nice one and we have seen them go for much more money.  Try finding one in each color and from Banthrico and Lincoln line and occasionally find one in the original box.  There are well over 100 Kaiser-Frazer toys and models documented.  "The fun is in the search!"

Kaiser Forum / Re: 48 KAISER STARTER REPLACEMENT??
« on: November 23, 2020, 12:20:50 PM »
From the description it seems that the Bendix spring has broken and it is not the starter itself.  Take the starter out and you can see the Bendix spring on the back of the starter.  An easy fix.

Congratulations!  It is a really beautiful job and you should be proud.  Send us some pictures and the story of  how you found the car as we are all interested.  There are a couple of different sales brochures for '51 Kaisers from the Netherlands and the cars look just like the American versions.

51's were all that was ever made from two different makers in several different colors.  This one is in very nice condition.

General Discussion / Re: 2020 KF Nationals??

How about making a fancy sticker or plaque to cover the old date with a new one.  The trophies look great and a lot of work went into them and everyone would certainly understand the modification and that would make them "special"!  I for one am certainly looking forward to coming back for a National Meet and it would be nice to have the college dorms again at about one third the cost of a hotel.

Collector's Corner / Re: A nice blue Henry J promotional model.

Some of you may have noticed the blue Banthrico promotional model on eBay now and hovering a little over $200.  If you are looking for one this seems very nice and it is the early version with the silver painted window glass and the un supported bumpers that came with the earliest releases.  I suspect it will end up near $300 which seems about right for a nice one.  Tell us if you go for it!

Some how I ended up with Edgar Kaiser's personal engraved Zippo lighter with a Kaiser Industries logo on it and I think that it would be the perfect accessory for Edgar's Henry J glove compartment.  Edgar like everyone back then was a cigarette smoker.

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Re: Parts Interchange Guide
« on: November 18, 2020, 09:45:10 PM »
I have not seen this particular parts interchange book and it will only be as good as his parts sources unless it is strictly an interchange book.  He seems to offer a similar book for every make of old car so his material is probably all out of the same source.  When he listed the applicable models he did not seem to list the Allstate which is needed as well.  It is a little pricey so I would suggest you asking this same question in about six months and after some of us has had a chance to use it.  Thanks for finding it and it would be a needed and useful item for all of us if it works out.

Could any of this be modified for later use?  What are the prices and do you have shirts available?

Many new parts with a 6 cyl Allstate head that was completely rebuilt properly.

Indicates it's a deluxe

That is true for a Henry J but the Allstate's could be ordered five ways in 1952.
#210 4 cyl standard, #213 4 cyl dlx,  @214 4 cyl dlx with overdrive, #215 6 cyl dlx, #216 6 cyl dlx with overdrive.  My own car is a 4cyl with overdrive and I thought it was a standard but maybe not.  I don't know what features made them a standard or deluxe other than the size of the wheel covers.  The '52 brochure shows all illustrations of the cars with bumper guards and wheel covers but not the '53's. The dealer book for 1953 shows the large wheel covers as accessories not standard equipment plus no mention of bumper guards even as accessories.  There is still lots to learn about the Allstate's!

Several good pictures would really help your sale.  Is this a standard or deluxe model?  small or large hubcaps?

Kaiser Forum / Re: New issue with my 51

Contact the guy who was just under your dash and tell him the problem.  He will probably have you bring it in so that he can check to see what happened.

I think that the '51 headlight switches are '51 only and not of good quality when new.  Do as Fid described and your problem will be solved.  Replacement switches have their own knob which will not match the others on your car.
