General Discussion / Installing Rear Fenders on a 1952 Henry J
« Last post by byronvoyle on January 14, 2025, 05:36:55 AM »
Hello, Has anyone successfully installed a set of fiberglass rear fenders on a 1952 Henry J that can suggest what type of clamps would be best to use in this situation? Also, what size bolts, nuts, and other hardware should be selected to ensure the fenders are installed securely but do not damage the fiberglass? Thanks.

The KF club maintains a list of known cars and the last four of your serial number is not on the list. Here's a link to the site with more information around how to add your car's information.

https://www.eskimo.com/~hhagen/reg/reg.htm

This list contains more GP Frazers than the two I mentioned in my earlier post. The two I know of are two I've actually seen.

This Graham-Paige Frazer was rotting away at French Lake Auto Parts for a couple of years.  I tried to pull a few things off of it but most of it was just too far gone.  It's the only GP Frazer I've happened across in all my years of scouring that midwest for KF (GP) products.  Unfortunately, it was crushed a few months ago.
Kudos to you for saving a rare one.  Plenty of help here as you go through your restoration process

Thanks for the welcome. I don't use Facebook so this forum works well for me. Been going over other folks entries and gaining knowledge from their experiences. Mine is one of those you mentioned. The last four of the serial number are 7684. I was stunned to find the G-P name on the driver's door frame.  It had been painted over but I could still read it.  Going to be fun!  :)

Kaiser-Frazer began as two separate entities with Joseph Frazer at the helm of Graham Paige, a pre-war company. Not long after production of the Kaiser and Frazer automobiles began under the same roof, both companies realized it would benefit both to be one company. Sources show only 8940 GP Frazers were built before the official merger took place.

GP Frazers are rare today. I know of two others on the road but I'm sure more exist. Fortunately, parts for your car are not hard to find so depending upon the level of restoration you decide to undertake, you won't break the bank.

This particular forum doesn't see a lot of use - most folks have migrated to social media with Facebook being the most popular. If you're not a user, that's ok, there are still several KFer's who stop by here from time to time.

Welcome aboard!

Hello,
I'm new here and a new owner of a 1947 Graham-Paige Frazer. I've been researching this model for a few months while waiting to receive my vehicle which arrived in mid-December 2024. It's apparent that the previous owner was working to convert it to a muscle car, with the modifications he made but apparently decided not to finish. I will be working to finish work of it but with a focus of restoring it instead of completing the transition it began with. I won't be undoing the modifications due to expense but there are several things that need to be done and I'm already working the plan to do so. I have to say that I love this car and look forward to getting it finished, including painting.
Feel free to ask questions if you like.
Have a great new year, everyone.

Carl, I'm the Darrin Registry Manager and I don't have you listed as owning a Darrin.  We exist to just keep track of Darrin's and to help Darrin owners with their cars.   Would you call me at 714 - 270 - 1943 so we can talk about your Tach cable.
