Fuel pump pressure
« on: August 04, 2023, 12:46:50 PM »
I made the mistake of sending my fuel pump to Then and Now.  They rebuilt it using a spring off the shelf which resulted in too much pressure.  Their response was that they have no way to check pressure and any carb should be able to handle 7 lbs of pressure. They agreed to send me an assortment of springs.  I installed the weakest one and still have too much pressure.

Does anyone have an original pump or spring that they can part with.  If not, does anyone have specs or at least picture of the original spring.

Lee Abrahams uses a pressure regulator on the line from the fuel pump to the carburetor.   He will be going into the hospital on Monday for quadruple bypass surgery.   When he gets out, contact him to see what he uses, it works quite well.
