Mecum Las Vegas Auction
« on: November 13, 2018, 06:36:19 PM »
I just received a Mecum auction flyer in today's mail for an upcoming auction this weekend in Las Vegas.  There are several large collections being sold and I noticed at least four Kaiser-Frazer products.  A '47 Frazer Manhattan in dark grey,  a '51 Frazer convertible in black,  a '47 Kaiser Special in black and a '49 Kaiser Virginian in coral.  All of them seemed to be restored and it will be interesting to see what prices they bring.

auction results:

1947 Frazer Manhattan - 8,800 USD
1947 Kaiser Special - 12,100 USD
1949 Virgtinianb - 34,100 USD
1951 Frazer Convertible - 31,900 USD

Attention Non-Members:  If you are looking for a car to purchase, please post what you are looking for (example, 1953 Kaiser Manhattan) with preferred equipment (transmission type, color, etc) and let's see what we can match you up with.  Better still, become a member of the KFOCI for a year and get the club's monthly newsletter which has a variety of cars for sale in various parts of the country that are in various conditions (great to parts car) and priced (in some cases) even better than the Las Vegas auction results.

PS:  It should be noted that in some cases, cars offered at auction have tentatively been sold before they run across the block.  They are run through in order to see if someone one else will beat the offered price.

Selling prices seemed good as compared to other recent auctions. 49-50 Kaiser hardtops had been losing value but with this sale, hopefully there's an upward trend that continues. The convertible was subject to a drivetrain swap which appears to have affected its value. There was a time that a nicely done KF convertible would have commanded twice the selling price of this example.
