I have a N.O.S. front lens for the 52-54. How do you tell if it is right or left?

Check the threaded barrels. If they cant to the left, it’s a right hand lens. The opposite would be true for the left side.

I bought an NOS one on ebay last fall... was in box marked "Left" which had the part number for a left on it but when I got it, it was a right.  That's fine, it had a "Buy it Now" of $25 with free shipping so no hard feelings here!
