51 Frazer Paint Code

IN Sheboygan at the Johnson get together, I saw a beautiful '51 Frazer convertible that was
painted Blue Satin Metallic. I believe this color was available for the Henry J also. Can anyone
tell me the Paint company (Ditzler, Dupont) and the company's paint code for this color? My wife
really likes this color and wants our car painted the same color.

Doc, Thanks for the info. The car I referred to used to belong to John Haller and the last time I
saw it in the 60's in Minneapolis, it was painted a soft yellow. That also was a great color
combination with the brown interior.

The mixing formula listed is worthless as the mixing formulas on original K-F paint charts (or any other pre 1970 charts for any make of car) haven't been in production for years.  Also, original paint on 1951 Frazer Manhattans was Lacqer rather than enamal (the firewall paint colors start with 0 or 5).

PPG/Ditzler jobbers can have the original color prepared for old cars (any make, again) if you know the paint code number and paint name.  They do this by contacting the PPG/Ditzler Color Libarary at corporate.  They use a computer spectrometer to scan the original file chip (kept in special storage) and determine currently available mixing formula components.  There is no charge to the jobber for giving him (or her) that information but they are not to pass it on to the retail customer.  The service is part of factory support to the jobbers.
