Local Car Show
« on: April 11, 2015, 04:11:54 PM »
I attended a local car show. There were nearly 100 cars but no Kaisers. I've been working on mine so I did not enter it.  I did catch the fever though and wish I did. They are having another show this Saturday close to our house and I'm going to have it ready to enter it.

I have a couple of staging props, a poster, scrap book and a KF sign. Going to see if I can get a tee shirt printed too.

It will be the first time I put a car in a show. Looking forward to it.

I like taking my Kaiser to shows and parking in amongst the 55-57 Chevys. There's always more than one of them and invariably, folks are gravitated towards the Kaiser and walk right by the Chevys. The tri-5 guys grumble and I just grin!

We've done quite a few shows over the last several years.  It's enjoyable to introduce people to Kaisers or talk to the older folks who used to own one or their parents had one.  Every now and then another Kaiser will be there, as in this show in 2013.  Mine is the one with the blond of course.  The 54 belongs to one of our club members from Whidbey Island, WA.

I show up at a car show where she is and ask.  I'm not sure why she and her friend do it as they don't ask for money, they just do it if you ask.  :)

I didn't see that blond on the accessory list for 1951 Kaisers and Frazers. Dealer option?

She'd draw more attention than the car. Given I'm married with 7 children, I'd better just stick with the car. That gets me into trouble I can get out of.

That's an owner installed accessory.  It has a very high price, I'm afraid.  I was simply...  uh.... demonstrating to a friend what it would look like on HIS car.  Yeah, that's it.  :)

Well I put my Kaiser into a local show yesterday. Lots of interest in it. The most common question; "Who made Kaisers". Here's a photo with a Buick and a Hudson. In another one you can see my Ford on the end.

Fun parking in the car shows amongst other cars.  Seems everyone is attracted to the hood ornament on the 51 Kaiser.  In fact, I got tired of opening and closing the hood because of people wanting picture of hood ornament.  Now I just leave hood down.

And how many times have you answered the question "is it lighted" with "unfortunately not".

It would have been a little more cool if they had made it light up.  The Pontiac's with the Indian face that lights up are pretty slick to me

Some handy folks have lighted theirs.  It should actually be pretty easy these days to make them pretty bright, with the LED's that are available.
This was us, taken by a friend, John G, who has a 1951 Nash (we won't hold that against him though) and a 1952 Nash-Healey, on 04/18/15 at the Burger King Cruise-in, Arlington, WA.  It was a great night, with the parking lot filled with great cars!
